Another Successful CurryCrimp Training Session - Sacramento California
Posted by John Horne on Dec 16th 2021
John Horne, our branch manager at our Arizona location, recently completed another successful crimper training - this time with the national telecommunications giant Hylan. This all day event took place at Hylan West, a division of Hylan that specializes in broadband infrastructure, intelligent transport systems, distributed antenna systems, fiber optic network platforms, and wireless solutions. Hylan West’s services often lead to underground construction, directional drilling, and auger / jack boring - all of which require heavy duty hydraulic equipment such as:
- Excavators
- Directional Drills
- Rock Saws
- Dump Bodies
- Bull Dozers
Eventually, equipment downtime from sourcing new hydraulic hose from an off-premises manufacturer became too much to bear. Key decision - makers within the organization, such as the Vice President of Operations and the Head Fleet Manager, decided that ruptured hose must be replaced as soon as possible to prevent unnecessary delays. On October 20th, 2021 a dozen employees from varying technical backgrounds met to behold their new Model GC20 crimper and learn the ins and outs of hose - making.
Horne made sure that each attendee could clearly demonstrate their new abilities. By the end of the day, every member of Hylan West's team knew how to choose the correct die, hydraulic fittings, and crimper settings before using their brand new Model GC20 crimper to create a new hose.
Hylan West took full advantage of the CurryCrimp product offering, which included the following complimentary items:
- Hose Reel rack for long term storage of hydraulic hose.
- Work tables with drawers for die storage.
- Shelf and Bins for easy organization of fittings and adapters.
- Model GC20 Crimper - complimentary as long as all future hose, fitting, and adapter orders come from Curry Fluid Power.
- Automatic re-ordering of fittings and adapters from a trusted Curry Fluid Power representative.
In addition to these complimentary items, Hylan West also took measures to ensure that no contamination entered hoses during the crimping process by installing:
- A Model HYDM 70 Clean-Cut Hose Saw - with an integrated vaccum port to remove any debris created from cutting hose.
- An Ultra Clean Kit for clearing any debris from hose before the crimping process.
